Picture of the Week: Fun… if by sea…

Here are two more photographs from the magazine,  North Carolina Today. We have posted several fun images from this publication to our blog. North Carolina Today was published in the 1930s by the “Governor’s Hospitality Committee.”  We only have four issues in our collection (and there may only have been four issues overall). It aimed to show the state’s “natural advantages,” enticing visitors and residents with pictures of industry, recreation, and culture.

These  images accompany an article touting all the “fun in the sun and water” options North Carolina has to offer.  This statement still rings true today. You can check out this issue of North Carolina Today here, http://digital.ncdcr.gov/u?/p249901coll22,80617.
