New additions to the collections of the Government and Heritage Library:
Revolutionary Patriots of Worcester and Somerset Counties Maryland, 1775-1783, by Henry Peden. A research tool for locating Worcester and Somerset County residents who served in the military, rendered material aid to the army or navy, tok the Oath of Allegiance and Fidelity, served in an office or on a town, county or state committee, or in some way contributed and supported the fight for freedom in the Revolutionary War.
The Colored Patriots of the American Revolution with Sketches of Several Distinguished Colored Persons: To Which is Added a Brief Survey of the Condition and Prospects of Colored Americans, by William Nell. This reprint of the original publication from 1855 highlights the service of African Americans in the Revolutionary War and includes an introduction by Harriet Beecher Stowe.
