It is estimated by the NC State Data Center that the population of Charlotte increased by 23,524 people between 2009 and 2010. The City of Raleigh’s population was estimated to have increased by 22,572 people during that same time. Some municipalities, however, like Winston-Salem and Durham, saw slight decreases in population.
NCpedia recently updated its list of the ten largest cities in North Carolina based on the 2010 population estimates. You may find it at http://ncpedia.org/geography/cities. A list of the largest cities from 2009 is also included, so you may see what cities grew, and what cities saw decreases in their population over that time.
More 2010 population estimates for cities across North Carolina may be found at the NC State Data Center website.
