The Loggerhead sea turtle who lives in Eastern North Carolina.

Published in 2001, the Guide to federally listed endangered and threatened species of North Carolina, is an excellent sources for finding North Carolina animals and plants on the  endangered species list. According to this guide, there are 758 species of plant and 644 animals that are on the list, including the Venus flytrap, the official State Carnivorous Plant (p. iii).

For each endangered species there is a one page summary that includes a map of where the species is found, a description, longevity,  habitat information, threats to the species, and management recommendations. Lists of endangered species who migrate into North Carolina are not extensively covered, however, there is a list of theses animals and plants on page 127.  This publication can be downloaded, printed, saved, or viewed here.
