June is often the month family reunions are planned or finishing touches added. The Government and Heritage Library has books in Genealogical Services to help you.
The book A Family Affair: How to Plan and Direct the Best Family Reunion Ever by Sandra McLean Clunies, CG, is available at our library. This is a very helpful book when it comes to planning a reunion and follows an amusing theme of setting a stage for a play.
There are 3 section of the books (called “acts”) that deal with the first steps to planning a reunion – the idea stage. Act 2 deals with preparation with finding family to invite, working with hotels and coming up with meal plans, and in general getting things ready for the reunion. Act 3 is about the actual reunion and follow up with participants after the reunion.
Not everything in the book will apply to every reunion, there are hundreds of practical ideas and instructions to creating a great reunion.
If you are looking for ideas of where to go while here in North Carolina, why not stop by the Government and Heritage Library and take a look at this book?
