State Doc Pick of the Week: North Carolina as a Place for Investment, Manufactures, Mining, Stock Raising, Fruit and Farming

This week’s State Doc Pick of the Week is North Carolina as a place for investment, manufactures, mining, stock raising, fruit and farming: what northern residents say of it as a place to live in.  This publication was edited by N. Dumont and was printed in 1879.  The State Library of North Carolina recently digitized this item making it more available to the public.

Sections in this publication include North Carolina geology, climate, healthfulness, industries, manufacturies, markets, and the price of land.  There is a section of this publication that contains very interesting letters from North Carolinans about social life, products, places in North Carolina.  Most of these letters where written in order to be presented or published during the Proceedings of the Convention of Northern Residents of the South (Jan 15, 1879).

This publication can be downloaded, printed, saved, and viewed by clicking here.
