State Doc Pic of the Week: A Handbook for Elementary Schools – 1932

The handbook is an administrative guide to elementary schools in North Carolina in the early 1930s.  It contains suggested bell schedules for one-teacher and two-teacher schools; suggested school assembly schedules; titles of text books for 1st – 7th grades and the retail price for each book.  Only a very few books were more that $1.

There are also links to handbooks from 1938, 1947 and 1953.
