As the days of summer dwindle, schools have geared up to welcome back students. The familiar sight of the big yellow school bus is greeting commuters on North Carolina roads once again. With the new school year, let’s take time to consider some numbers about North Carolina schools and students. See how much the state has changed!


Researching Your Revolutionary War Ancestors: Workshop Rescheduled

The free workshop originally scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2013 has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 9, at 10:00 a.m. in the auditorium of the Archives-History/State Library Building at 109 East Jones Street in Raleigh. The program will focus on researching Revolutionary War ancestors using the resources of the State Archives and the Government and Heritage Library.

We will discuss Revolutionary War military records including: pension records, pay vouchers, land warrants, and other print and electronic resources to help with your research.
