State Doc Pick of the Week: Access North Carolina

We all know that from the mountains to the coast North Carolina has a wealth of vacation opportunities.  But did you know that many of them are accessible to people with disabilities.  This state document contains over 400 pages of tourist destinations in North Carolina. Information on each site includes the accessibility of parking, entrances, paths, restrooms, elevators, etc.  Listings describe what the tourist site offers to visitors and rates the accessibility of each tourist site for those with physical/mobility disabilities. Some listings rate how accessible the site is for the deaf and hard of hearing, visitors with vision loss, visitors with cognitive/intellectual disabilities and visitors with other types of disabilities. This publication can also benefit people who are aging or parents with child and infant strollers.

This publication can be downloaded, printed, saved, and viewed by clicking here.
