[SLNC editorial note: A site visitor informs us that the subject's name was "Mason William" Wellman. The index card accurately reflects the name as printed in the original article (correct or not). We did find that the card misrepresents the article contents, though, in that it clarifies that Mr. Wellman was the first man pardoned since the Paroles Commission was created in 1935.]
